Mixed-Media Watch Art in Teal and Blue

A striking blue-toned artistic depiction of a Swiss watch, blending intricate gears, clock numerals, and a dynamic central figure.

I started to work with a photo of a Richard Mille watch I photographed in Monaco years ago, and it evolved into a highly detailed, painterly collage centered on a large blue-and-teal mechanical timepiece set within a weathered, reflective metallic frame. The watch face brings together oversized numerals, intricate gears and gauges, clock hands, and technical markings, and I added a stylized, faceted human figure that hangs from the handle like a small guardian of the mechanism. Around it, shattered glass-like blue shards, translucent geometric forms, architectural fragments, technical diagrams, and faint printed papers overlap and intersect, so the whole scene feels like an industrial and nautical landscape suspended in time. Cool blues, turquoise, gray, silver, and muted gold dominate the composition, and the distressed textures with expressive brushwork give the piece a dreamlike, vintage mixed-media character that feels both futuristic and worn by history. I wanted the atmosphere to feel like a quiet moment inside a machine on the verge of a new chapter, which is why the phrase “A NEW ERA OF TIMEKEEPING” appears almost like a whispered announcement within the collage.

Below in the gallery you can versions I did before settling with the one above. Time spent well or should I settled with the first turquoise version. But adding and deleting of layers is creative – gives my brain time to work.
